1. Introduction

Welcome to Kosmo ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This notice applies to askkosmo.com, our waitlist, and the Kosmo application once you have an account.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with a third-party provider, the basic profile information (such as your name) that provider shares with us.

Waitlist information. Joining the waitlist collects your name (optional) and email address.

Your requests and results. The prompts, tasks, and follow-up answers you submit to compile, and the outputs Kosmo generates, are stored and associated with your account so you can view your history and continue a conversation.

Usage and diagnostic data. We collect technical signals about how a request was handled — for example, which AI tool it targeted, whether we looked up supporting information, and whether the request succeeded — to keep the Service reliable and to improve it. This data is used internally and is not exposed to other users.

Payment information. If you purchase credits or a subscription, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor (Razorpay for India, Lemon Squeezy internationally). We do not store your full card details ourselves.

3. How We Use Your Information

To operate the Service, authenticate you, and process your compile requests.
To manage your credits, purchases, and billing.
To send you waitlist and early-access updates, transactional emails, and support replies.
To maintain and improve the reliability and quality of the Service.
To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse or fraud.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. How Your Requests Are Processed

To turn your request into a compiled prompt, the text you submit is processed by third-party AI/large-language-model providers and, where relevant, by third-party web-search or documentation-retrieval providers, so the output can be grounded in current information. We instruct these providers to process your data only to deliver the Service, but we do not control their infrastructure, and their own privacy practices may apply to processing performed on their systems.

5. Data Sharing and Processors

We share information only with the service providers who help us operate Kosmo, including: our cloud database and authentication provider (Supabase); the AI-processing and retrieval providers described in Section 4; and, if you make a purchase, a payment processor. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and compile-history data while your account is active, so the Service can function (viewing history, continuing threads, tracking credits). Waitlist entries are retained until early access opens for you or you ask to be removed. You can request deletion of your data at any time — see "Your Rights" below.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and to remember your theme preference. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers. If we add analytics or advertising tracking in the future, we will update this policy first.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA) to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@askkosmo.com — self-serve account and data controls are not yet available during early access, so requests are currently handled manually.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we expect our providers to apply appropriate safeguards to protect your information consistent with this policy.

11. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — such as encrypted connections and access controls — to help protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
